Knowing what you want to do

It’s ok to not have a calling in life – you don’t have to decide right now what you want to do forever. But the earlier you start to think about your options, the sooner you’ll be on the path to a job that you really love. 

At school, you have a great opportunity to learn about everything from physics and algebra to religion and literature. Which do you enjoy the most? Which are you best at? This is usually a pretty good indicator of your strengths.

Now think about what else you’re good at – outside of lessons. ‘Soft’ skills are your personal attributes, such as communication skills, that can set you apart from other people when you interview for jobs.
